Not Made in China
WHY I AVOID CHINESE PRODUCTS <------- This link will take you to an hour-long program about working conditions in China, the good, the bad and the ugly.
The jewelry on this website is designed and made in the USA with my own hands. The various parts I use — beads, wire, charms, etc. — come from the USA and other areas of the world. Some of my wire, pewter, ceramic, lampwork beads, charms and furnace glass beads are made in the USA. Some beads come from countries such as Italy, India, and the Czech Republic, which have long bead-making traditions. My silver-plated wire comes from Europe. Sterling silver parts may come from the USA, Bali, Mexico, or Thailand.
It’s not always possible for me to know where my materials come from. Stone beads, loose beads, some findings sold in bead stores, “found” or vintage items – the origins of these may not be identified by the retailer. But I do my best to avoid materials from China. If not clearly labeled, they are usually easy to identify by their inferior quality and low cost.
I make an exception ONLY in the case of FIREFLY and SERENITY inspired jewelry, and only if absolutely necessary. As Browncoats know, Asian elements are part of the style of FIREFLY/SERENITY, and for these jewelry items I will use jade, coins and charms from China, for obvious reasons.
If you have a question about any of my jewelry or materials, please feel free to contact me.
