I was told that these stones are turquoise. They have a lovely bluish-green and brown marbled pattern reminiscent of copper and verdigris (the blue-green patina that appears on aged copper). Matched with freshwater pearls. French hooks, wire and embellishments are all sterling silver. Earrings measure 1-inch long, from top of pearl to bottom of earring,  (image enlarged to show details). You don’t have to be an airship captain or steampunk adventurer to enjoy this piece, created in my private studio with brass filigree, compass rose (also known as a “windrose”), cartographer “wind” charms, Czech glass beads, stone-inlaid globe, turquoise, and a combination of new and vintage chain. Centerpiece measures 1.75 x 2.75 inches. Earthy and mysterious… Spirals are some of the most ancient of human symbols, featured on the 5,000-year-old Newgrange monument in Ireland.

In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, I created this bracelet with a Celtic knot button, glass, stone, and handmade ceramic beads in various shades of green. Adjustable around 7-1/2 inches (the “standard” women’s bracelet size is 7 inches, but your mileage may vary). Women with very slim wrists will require resizing by removing at least one of the beads or some of the links in the design. Additional length may also be achieved by add a few more links.
