December 21st, 2009 by Jen

Here’s a link to the pdf file of my award-winning short story, which won the Andrew Britton Short Story Competition this year. This is a fantasy story set in a re-imagined Dark Age period, and takes place at Yuletide. Enjoy!

WREN AND WOOD: OAK MOON

FIREFLY Planetary Postmark Stamps

I’ve had several Browncoats ask me where I get my planetary postmarks, which are stamped on the gift boxes I send out with FIREFLY-SERENITY items. I have to give credit to Heather at Wear With Style for giving me the idea — she ships her hand-knitted Jayne hats in boxes covered with planetary postmarks. I designed my own set of postmarks using GIMP, and then I had the stamps made at RubberStamps.net. If you’d like to make rubber stamps of your own, feel free to use my images. I only ask that you not use them for commercial purposes or sell them, and that you give me credit for the artwork. Thanks!

Also, I have an “Alliance Inspector” stamp that was made by using a template at RubberStamps.net for a small, round, self-inking stamp. And I chose the purple ink option… since they’re “purplebellies.” The Chinese characters on the Sihnon postmark supposedly say “Beautiful World” — but for all I know, they actually say “Monkey Underwear” or something.

Free Beading Word Search

Click on the thumbnail for a full-page bead-themed word search. I made this myself. Words might be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, backwards or over-lapping. The usual free-use web-etiquette applies: Please give me credit, don’t pass it off as your own work, this is for non-commercial use only, and make sure to save the file to your own computer or to your own website rather than linking back to it here. Enjoy! Click here for the answers.

FREE download: Mermaze

August 21st, 2008 by Jen

mermaze3.jpg My 4-year-old daughter loves mermaids, and she loves mazes, so I made this for her. It is entirely my own drawing, and you have my permission to print it out, put it on your website, or use it at your school. I just ask that you give me credit, and do not try to pass this off as your own work. Click on thumbnail for full image. Enjoy!
