$14.00 - Item#BC310BR

“Love… makes her a home.”

Inspired by Joss Whedon’s cult TV show FIREFLY and the movie SERENITY, this bracelet features pistols, leaves, planet and Asian-themed charms (the oval charms are not yellow, they are silvertone, the color is just from a reflection when I took the picture). The oval charms say “luck” and “love” on the reverse. Brown glass beads. Measures 7-1/4 inches long, which is the standard women’s bracelet size (image is enlarged to show details). Only one available, one-of-a-kind item, handmade in my private studio. Gift boxed.

Free first class shipping & handling to the U.S. and Canada is included with all items! Click here for details.

Steampunk Style Jewelry book released early!

December 16th, 2009 by Jen

jlh-book.jpg

For those of you who didn’t already see my tweets and Facebook posts, I wanted to mention that the book “Steampunk Style Jewelry” by Jean Campbell was released earlier than expected. It is now available on Amazon for ordering in time for the holidays. I have a copy right here in front of me, and I can tell you it’s gorgeous. Not only does it include three of my own original jewelry projects (the Horological Faery Gadget necklace shown above, as well as Gearrings and an Airship Captain’s Ring), but also several projects by other artists and a wealth of information about steampunk, including modding, movies, antique shopping, cosplay and more! This is the most amazing craft book I’ve ever seen. You want one.

Saffron’s “Lassiter Heist” Bracelet

August 1st, 2009 by Jen

jlh-709-saffron2.jpg

$20.00 - Item#BC709SAFF

This bracelet was inspired by the jewelry of “Saffron” from the cult TV show FIREFLY, during the Lassiter heist in the episode “Trash.” For all the cosplayers out there, I have studied the DVD carefully, and after examining all angles this is as close as I’ve ever come to a screen-accurate replica of her bracelet. It features a combination of bone, jade, wood, carved stone, glass, howlite, and rudraksha seed. Strung on black linen. Only one available at this time, the item you see in the pictures is exactly the item you will receive. I have made similar bracelets before, and will probably make them again, if I can find the right materials, but I don’t know when that will be, so get it while you can. Measures 8 inches long, but due to the size of the beads, fits a 7 to 7-1/2 inch wrist (which is the standard women’s bracelet size). Gift boxed.

Pink Bead Necklace

June 1st, 2009 by Jen

$25.00 - Item#FF-PINK

“I did receive the Kaylee necklace in the mail the day after you sent it. THANK YOU! It is beautiful. Very shiny… I will be sure to send you pictures from Comic Con in July… Now I have the perfect necklace.” - Mary, February 2010

I have identified the same type of bead that Kaylee is seen wearing on the cover of the FIREFLY DVD, the second Official Firefly Companion book, and in other FIREFLY promotional pictures. The beads are imported from Italy. I also found a type of cord that looks just like hers. It is tan buckskin (made in the USA). These necklaces are adjustable, with an extension chain that allows them to be worn between about 16 and 18 inches long. This is one of the few items on my website that I’ve made several times. I will continue making these for as long as I am able to obtain the beads and materials. Items are made when ordered. Depending on my schedule, and how many orders come in, this item might take 2-4 weeks to ship.

Inara Cosplay Jewelry

May 26th, 2009 by Jen

For Browncoat costuming reference, I’ve put together some images of Inara jewelry as seen in these FIREFLY episodes (from top left corner, going clockwise): 1) “Serenity” (pilot), “Shindig” (last scene) and “The Message”; 2) “Our Mrs. Reynolds”; 3) “Trash”; 4) “Heart of Gold” and “War Stories”; 5) “Shindig” (duel scene) and “War Stories”; and 6) (bottom left corner) “Jaynestown.”

Jewelry replicas for cosplay are some of the few items on my website which I do make again and again, because they are for costuming and not one of my original designs. I have spent a lot of time pausing, zooming and examining the episodes; sketching pictures; and searching for just the right materials in order to make them. But I never know when I’ll be able to make more — finding parts to match, and enough spare time, is not easy.

Below are pictures of some of the cosplay jewelry items I’ve made in the past. All of these items are SOLD. They are shown here as samples of my work.
