This ring was made with an old button I purchased in an antique store. It’s a little difficult to tell in the picture, but the button contains a small relief of a gold flower on a stem with leaves, surrounded by a purplish patina. The ring is a size 7 on my ring mandrel, made with gunmetal wire. Button measures just over a 1/4-inch across (images enlarged to show details). Inspired by Joss Whedon’s cult TV show FIREFLY and the movie SERENITY, this bracelet features pistols, leaves, planet and Asian-themed charms (the oval charms are not yellow, they are silvertone, the color is just from a reflection when I took the picture). The oval charms say “luck” and “love” on the reverse. Brown glass beads. Measures 7-1/4 inches long, which is the standard women’s bracelet size (image is enlarged to show details). Gnome Terrariums are wonderful, self-contained, magical environments. Your Gnome Terrarium has just the right balance of fairy dust, moss, and stone to maintain a single North American Diminutive Wildwood Gnome. No watering nor feeding is required, just an occasional cotton swabbing if the fairy dust gets out of control. Simply remove the cork during each full moon, and your Gnome will conduct its necessary business and return by morning.

IMPORTANT: Without magic, they will not thrive. You must whisper a wish to your Gnome at least once a week. Keeping your Gnome Terrarium near stones, plants, ceramic unicorns, pewter wizards, and any other magical items or creatures also helps to maintain the health of your Gnome. ALL GNOMES ARE WILLING PARTICIPANTS IN THE GNOME TERRARIUM, AND NO GNOMES ARE HARMED WHILE MAKING THIS PRODUCT. Join the Gnome Terrarium project and help preserve the Gnome population as its imaginary habitat dwindles.

Each Gnome Terrarium is handmade and unique. Stones, moss, fairy dust and gnomes will vary from the one shown here. Each Gnome Terrarium measures just two inches high (not including cork, image enlarged to show details) and comes in a dark green drawstring pouch, along with an instruction sheet. Please note, this is not a jewelry item. It does not come on a cord or chain.

This charm is made with a real letter “E” Scrabble tile (you can see the reverse, below). I added the elephant image, which was found and recycled from a India travel brochure, and coated it with Ice Resin. On 18-inch beige leather cord, with lobster claw clasp. I’ve read that smoky quartz is supposed to help heal a broken heart. I think beautiful jewelry certainly helps lift the spirits, regardless of whether you believe in stone lore or not.

These necklaces are made using old Scrabble tiles (no full sets of Scrabble were harmed in the making of these items). The images are cut from reused items such as calendars, magazines and other ephemera, applied to the tiles, and coated with Ice Resin. The resin is water resistant, but I recommend keeping these out of water and away from any substances such as lotions, cleaners, etc. Charms come on 18-inch leather cord with clasp. Gift boxed. Ceramic vial covered with a Celtic knot design, embellished with lead-free Celtic knot beads made in the USA. Raku-style, multicolored glaze. Ceramic vial measures 1-1/2 inches across (image enlarged to show details). Comes on 28 inches of black cord, no clasp (will slide over most heads). This is not an item I made myself, I just thought they were cool and wanted to sell some. I added the cord and the pewter knot beads. Not food-safe. Add your own fairy dust, herbs, tiny stone chips, small paper messages, tears, perfume, or whatever treasures you wish. These work well as diffusers, just add a few drops of perfume, which will slowly evaporate through porous cork. Please note that the cork is not a perfect seal, and if you fill it too full, it may seep or leak. Number available: 4.

I have no idea how old this button is or where it originally came from, it was purchased in an antique store. I love the combination of silver star, brass edges, shimmery copper surface and lovely aged patina. Button is just under 5/8-inch across, and set in a copper bead cap.
