These are faceted iolite stone drops hanging from sterling silver Celtic knots. Earrings are 1-1/4 inches long, not including french hook earwires (image is enlarged to show details). This is a handmade original jewelry design, created in my studio, and there is only one pair available. Gift boxed. Please note: Monitors vary, so colors may not be exactly the same in person.

In gem lore, iolite is said to aid in awakening psychic abilities. The name “iolite” comes from the Greek word for violet, though the stone has the unusual feature of changing color from violet to brown, depending on the angle of the light. This feature has also led to iolite being identified as a possible sunstone or “Viking Compass” used by seafarers in ancient times.
