This one-of-a-kind handmade piece of jewelry was created in my studio using hematite stone, glass, a ceramic bead created by North Carolina artist Elaine Ray, hardware, silvertone beads, and European silver-plated wire. Fits standard-sized women’s 7-inch wrist, but may be re-sized upon request. Gift boxed.

I use the term “spacepunk” to describe this style, because it’s inspired by two of my loves — STEAMPUNK and FIREFLY (a sci-fi cult-classic western set, mostly, in space). Each spacepunk piece is a unique combination of materials, designed to look as if it were cobbled together from bits of space debris, and engine parts. Adornment is a human compulsion, old as history, and I imagine would continue if we settled the stars.

Sterling silver necklace features a Victorian Art Nouveau-style dancing fairy accented with a real faceted iolite semi-precious stone drop and faceted Czech glass. Chain is 20 inches long, with lobster claw clasp. Dancing fairy pendant is 1-34 inches long from the top of her wings to the bottom of the iolite drop. The unique properties of iolite (changing colors depending on the angle of the sun) made it useful to the Vikings in navigating their ships. In stone lore, iolite is said to aid intuition. 

   Inspired by Steampunk motifs of wings and keys, as well as the first “Harry Potter” movie (remember when Harry had to catch one of the flying keys?), this piece features a key charm with brass wings, on a vintage chain. Adjustable length between 17-19 inches, with lobster claw clasp. Winged key pendant is just under 2 inches long. This is a handmade original piece of jewelry and there is only one available. Real smoky quartz stone heart hangs from a pewter triquetra Celtic Knot bail, on 18-inches of black leather cord finished with a lobster claw clasp. I’ve read that smoky quartz is supposed to help heal a broken heart. I think beautiful jewelry certainly helps lift the spirits, regardless of whether you believe in stone lore or not.

The necklace features coconut shell beads in graduated colors, from beige to brown. Charms include copper heart, stone bead and copper disk.
