Celtic Crescent Moon Knot

This is my own original Celtic Crescent Moon Knot design. I drew it with pen and ink several years ago, then later reworked it into a digital image using GIMP. I’ve sold t-shirts, magnets and other merchandise with this design. It is copyright to me as its creator and commercial use without my permission is prohibited.

If you inquire about using this graphic for a tattoo or something else, just be aware that it will not be unique to you. I have granted permission to several people over the years, and it’s been made into tattoos, a drum, and other items for personal use.

I allow free use per the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license which lets others remix, tweak, and build upon my work non-commercially — that means non involving money in any way — as long as you credit me for the artwork and license your new creation(s) under the identical terms. If you use my image in this way, do send me pictures and links, I’d love to see them.

Commercial use may be granted under certain circumstances. Please contact me for more information.

Nate sent me a pic of his finished tattoo (click to enlarge). It looks awesome! I love it. (Redheads with freckles are nice, too! Cheers, Nate!)

  • I do grant permission for its use as a personal tattoo (and would love to see pictures!). Any other uses violate the copyright. This design has been used in the past for both commercial and personal use, and will continue to be used in the future, so exclusive use is not granted. I ask that users please give me credit for the design, and think of this website if you need to do any gift shopping in the future! 🙂

    Cheers,
    JLH
