I have long loved the art nouveau, H.G. Wells/Jules Verne, Victorian/Edwardian brass-and-copper sort of style, which shows up in such movies as Howl’s Moving Castle, Wild Wild West, Return to Oz, or even the Harry Potter films. I have recently discovered that this style is called “steampunk,” and I’ve been inspired to create jewelry along a similar aesthetic. This was my very first attempt. Featured brass, copper and leather, as well as glass beads and actual watch gears. A one-of-a-kind creation, handmade in my studio. Measured 17-1/2 inches long, hooked or unhooked via the spiral shown to the left of the heart - wind the bead onto the spiral to wear, unwind to take off. Image above is enlarged to show details - heart measured 1 inch across.
